TORN PAPER PORTRAITS

I took pictures of my students and posterized them on picnik.com. I immediately saw torn paper. They exploded their portrait by tracing each layer. They then transferred each layer to the shades of paper they were using. They tore each layer...no scissors involved. Then taped each layer starting with the darkest first using double sticky foam tape to add dimension to the finish project. It was truly like putting a puzzle back together...seemed very complicated until they started putting it back together. The end results are amazing!!!
